The Domaine de la Chambarde vineyard

• The Domaine de la Chambarde is situated in the beautiful Beaujolais region about 40 kilometres north of the French city of Lyon and is a small family owned vineyard of some 13 hectares.

• This Beaujolais vineyard has been in the same family for three generations. After finishing his studies in oenology, Robert and his wife Dali took over the family business in 1981.

• In an age of standardization of tastes, there are still some wine growers who prefer to follow a more traditional approach. The Domaine de la Chambarde remains faithful to these ancestral traditions, and the quality and range of their lovely wines results from careful cultivation of their grapes in limited production quantities.

• It is with pleasure and passion that Robert vinifies the fruits of his labour, and everything is done on site with the exception of the bottling, which is carried out by a specialised company.

Beaujolais Nouveau & Beaujolais Tradition

Beaujolais Rosé - Beaujolais Blanc -

Vins Cashers

•  The Domaine de la Chambarde's range of red, rosé and white Beaujolais and Beaujolais Nouveau wines are distributed under the name of “les vignobles Robert PEIGNEAUX".

•  Grape Variety : Red and rosé Beaujolais wines are made from a single grape variety - the gamay noire à jus blanc, whilst white Beaujolais is made exclusively from the chardonnay variety.

•  Grafting Stock : vialla, 3309 C, and a little téléki .

•  Soil : a sandy, silt type soil with veins of old schist, porphyry and granite.

•  Size and Density of Plantation : 9000 to 9500 vines/ha; the average age of the vines is 30 to 35 years,

•  Control of the vines : traditional control of the vineyard with a limited, selective output to ensure quality; carefully thought out plant health protection measures; and a respect for nature and the environment (use of typhlodromes)

•  Manual grape harvesting and wine making : the grape bunches are maintained intact and brought to concrete fermentation vats – vats which are coated with epoxy and are thermo-regulated.

•  Maceration : this takes between 5 to 7 days, at variable temperatures, depending upon the type of wine required (nouveau or tradition); for the rosé , maceration is 1 to 2 days, with the pressing and controlled fermentation at a low temperature. The wine making process is ensured by the owner.

•  Bottling : the bottles and corks as well as the filtration and bottling of the wine is carried out by a specialized company, conforming to HACCP norms.

•  Tasting : delicious fruity Beaujolais : aromas of red fruit, with a peppered note of gunflint, a scintillating wine full of great charm.
